Joint workshop meeting
dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Grechka

Želiv Premonstratensian Monastery
Czech Republic
due to COVID-19 pandemy postponed to May 30 - June 3, 2022

The Consortium "Seismic Waves in Complex 3-D Structures", Charles University in Prague, together with Seismik s.r.o. and Moser Geophysical Services organize a joint workshop "ACTIVE AND PASSIVE SEISMICS IN LATERALLY INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIA II" and "19th INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON SEISMIC ANISOTROPY" to be held on May 30 - June 3, 2022 at Želiv Premonstratensian Monastery in the Czech Republic. The workshop follows the EAGE 2022 Annual Conference, which is announced to be held in Madrid from June 5 to 9 2022.

The workshop will be held at the Želiv Monastery Hotel. The Monastery is located about 90 km to the south-east of Prague. The accommodation will be provided mostly in single rooms with private bathroom. Food will be served in the Monastery Restaurant.

Those interested in participation in the workshop are kindly requested to fill in the online registration form. The accommodation capacity of the Želiv Premonstratensian Monastery is limited, therefore sooner applications have a greater chance to be accepted.

The fee includes registration fee, full board and accommodation for 4 days in the Monastery (Monday dinner to Friday breakfast), social activities and conference materials. For an accompanying person, the same fee will apply. Several partial grants to support the participation of students are available, please contact the organizers.

Oral presentations should be in English; no simultaneous translation will be provided. The time for oral presentations will be announced in the 3rd circular. Each presentation will be followed by 5 minutes reserved for a discussion. One PC screen projector will be available.

Participants are kindly asked to send a one- or two-page abstract of their contribution to the contact e-mail given below. PDF or PostScript file format is preferred. The title should be typed centered in the boldface capital letters. On the next line, author(s)' names, with the speaker's name underlined, should be typed. 10 pt fonts are recommended. In case you have already submitted an abstract, this can still be used, or updated as you wish.

Papers presented at the workshop will be published in a Special Issue in an internationally established journal. We propose to publish in the journal Studia Geophysica et Geodaetica (5-year IF: 1.116 in 2018). The selection of the journal for proceedings will be agreed during the Workshop. The reviewing process will be the same as for regular papers, i.e., each contribution will be reviewed by two reviewers. Papers requiring further modifications after the second round of reviewing will not be included in the special issue. The deadline for submitting papers will be also agreed during the Workshop.

A tour of the Monastery, a concert in the Monastery Church, a tour of Monastery Brewery, a half-day tour to the surrounding of the Monastery (probably the UNESCO town Telč), barbecue garden party and other activities are planned.

If there is sufficient interest, we may organize a programme for accompanying persons. Please let us know if you are interested in the programme. More details will be given in the 3rd circular.

3rd circular will be issued by the end of April 2022.
