Gaussian packet prestack depth migration. Part 3: Simple 2-D models

Vaclav Bucha

Summary

Gaussian packet prestack depth migration is used for calculation of migrated sections in two simple 2-D velocity models. Several improvements of the method have been implemented. We show differences between migrated sections computed with optimized and non-optimized (uniform) Gaussian packets. We compare the migrated sections with the results of Kirchhoff migration.

Keywords
