Kirchhoff prestack depth scalar migration of a complete wave field: stair-step interface

Summary

During our 3-D ray-based Kirchhoff prestack depth scalar migrations of a complete wave field, we encountered a problem with a stair-step migrated interface. The recorded complete seismic wave field was calculated using the Fourier pseudospectral method in a gridded velocity model. To explain the stair-step problem of the migrated interface, we have performed several additional calculations and present the results.
